The wine I make is all about the story I want to tell to people. The nitty gritty truth, the ups and downs, the pitfalls, the triumphs, the humour! We needed it after waiting an extra year to make this wine.
2013 was the warmest summer in 60 years in NZ. These grapes hit that magical Viognier “peak” quickly which means fabulous tropical and stone fruit flavours without too much alcohol and retaining the acid balance.
"My wine should tell a story"
The beauty of wine for me is all about the people. Can you imagine your favourite memory of a wine, and not think about the people you shared it with? Wine for me is alive, and much like people it’s not perfect, yet in its imperfections you find the most unique characteristics, qualities and most importantly - stories.
My wine should tell a story, it should spark conversation and invite people to embark on a journey as they travel through from the first taste at the tip of the tongue right through to the bottom of the punt of the bottle.
