Basilio Perez came to Catalonia from the carny Islands 26 years ago. He has gradually developed and re vitalised St Joannes Vineyard in the village of St Joan Samora Penedes - mainly known for Cava. Wine making can be traced back to 1560 in the vineyard and it has for most of that time Whites only. In the last 25 years that Reds have been planted and this 2012 vintage is a stunner. Basilio and his consultant an M Winemaker Oriol Guevara have kindly agreed to let us have a small parcel of this Cabernet Sauvignon / Tempranillo Blend.
